Our parent company, Oldcastle Materials, is the largest manufacturer of building products in North America. We operate in 50 states, four Canadian provinces and have 40,000 employees.

APAC Wheeler is one of the newest additions to the Oldcastle branch of APAC – Texas. Wheeler Coatings, Ironhorse Asphalt, and Texas Concrete & Materials became part of the Oldcastle Materials Group after the acquisiton on December 11th, 2009. The three companies are now under the name APAC Texas – Wheeler Companies. Currently we serve our market with seven asphalt plants and eight concrete plant locations; along with a fleet of paving sets, over sixty haul trucks, and nearly one hundred concrete mixers. We service multiple cities and counties along the IH 35 corridor from south of San Antonio going north through Austin to Waco, Texas. We employ nearly four hundred people and annual sales between 150 – 200 million.  The Wheeler division headquarters are located in Round Rock, just north of Austin, with additional offices in Belton, Round Rock, and San Antonio.

From its beginnings as Wheeler Coatings back in 1982, the company has grown from a one-man operation into a regional powerhouse. Much of this growth and success is attributed to the ambition and integrity of its founder, Jack Wheeler, who moved to Texas from Toledo, Ohio in 1982 to start an asphalt coating and repair company like the one his family had owned for decades.

APAC Wheeler has asphalt paving and maintenance offices in Round Rock , Belton, and San Antonio. Each location provides asphalt paving and repairs, seal coating, striping, and sign installation.

Ironhorse Asphalt is the hot mix asphalt production and sales division. We boast 7 central Texas locations that are capable of meeting the most stringent TxDOT specified mix on down to cold mix for patching. Each plant has an in-house Quality Control Engineer.

Texas Concrete Materials  is the ready mix concrete production and sales division. Sales and delivery includes the greater Austin area; TCM also has 7 plants locations. With an experienced staff and state of the art equipment, Texas Concrete has the ability to service any type of project.
